My Lupron Experience

I have to admit when I was presented with Lupron, it sounded like the end-all be-all miracle, hormones all shut off and I’d be pain-free for months. . Somehow my body got the hormone shut off portion but my body didn’t get the pain free notice. My pain took a turn for the worse, I literally had to resign from the gym I was teaching classes at and was stuck on the couch for too long 😭 Endo was not only ruining my physical health but now my financial health as i wasn’t able to earn a living. . My mornings consisted of waking up feeling just as tired as when I went to sleep, but that’s probably because once I got on Lupron I wasn’t sleeping & I was napping 90 minutes to a couple of houra max. I had zero energy, packed on over 20 pounds in less than 2 1/2 weeks and that was with me not making any changes in nutrition & I was still working out! 🤬 I’m telling you the math did not add up …. for example being 30 something years old and having hot flashes was beyond horrible & embarrassing. But the hot flashes earned me a progesterone prescription which only made me super bloated 30 minutes after taking it ! but that was OK because I took it three times a day so I always looked pregnant 😳 I was told the injection wouldn’t last that long and that I would need to keep them up ….. and for a few rounds I did but eventually I began packing on so much weight , my asthma was out of control ,and my gut was trashed . That’s when I put my foot down and said no more! I then learned that Lupron leaves your system when it wants to and not when you think you’re done , so I dealt with the symptoms probably another year from the injections 🙄 I know that Lupron has been a godsend for some women but for me it was the absolute worst decision I have ever made and I still pay for that decision today. . This is why we must be an advocate because at the end of the day when you go home you’re the one that has to deal with the pain and the side effects not your doctor 🤒 Talk to not only to your dr but do your research & talk to other women that have used Lupron to make sure it’s a good option for you and that you’re willing to deal with any side effects as well. #lupron #endopowerment #spoonie #endometriosisfighter #endodiet #endojourney #denvernutritionist #endonutrition #pelvicpain #endometriosisweightloss #endosucks #endometriosisfighter #endometriosis #endosister #endostrong #denverhealthcoach #endometriosiscommunity #endosisters #endometriosiswarrior #endometriosissupport #endometriosisawareness #endoflare #1in10 #endocommunity #endobelly #endopain #endometriosispain #fuckendo #thisisendometriosis #endowarrior
